Latvian Association of Human Genetics

 

 Latvian Association of Human Genetics is a voluntary professional organization that unites practicing specialists of human genetics in the territory of Latvia, regardless of nationality, religion or political convictions. 

The main aim of the association is to further development of human genetics in Latvia.

 

The area of the activities:

Education

  • development of certification programme for specialists in Medical genetics and certification of the specialists according to legal regulations 
  • organization of professional qualification improvement programmes for association members, by the association or in collaboration with other professional organizations in Latvia or other countries 
  • recommendation on specialist or society education in human genetics 

Scientific development and collaboration

  • facilitation of national and international collaboration in research of Medical Genetics

Community health improvement

  • participation in national and international human genetic association meetings and organized activities
  • development of guidelines and recommendation in clinical genetics, laboratory diagnostic and research of human genetics
  • furthering of community information and comprehension in human genetics

Legal issues

  • legal protection of association members and evaluation of professional liability and incompetence, deontological violations and other cases

Latvian Association of Human Genetics invite you to participate in the 2020 Academy (Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism).

 Date of the event:  20th to 21st April 2020

 Venue: Amsterdam, The Netherlands . Detailed information is available:

  • Urea Cycle Defects

 Registration:

 As places are limited to 40 clinicians and 40 lab scientists and there will be a selection process if the Academy is oversubscribed; completion of the application form does not guarantee a place on the course.

Accepted delegates will be contacted within 4 weeks of the applications deadline and will be asked to submit an abstract for a case presentation on a topic related to the Academy. 

 Registration fee:

Accepted delegates will be asked to pay the 100 Euro Academy registration fee. Academy registration includes:

  • Accommodation (including breakfast) for the nights of 19th and 20th April 2020
  • Lunches on the 20th and 21st April 2020

  • Glycogen storage diseases
  • Neurotransmitters
  • Congenital disorders of glycosylation

 

Registration:

The application process is online and is available on the SSIEM website until 12th November 2018.

As places are limited to 40 clinicians and 40 lab scientists and there will be a selection process if the Academy is oversubscribed; completion of the application form does not guarantee a place on the course.
