Project presentation

After two years of research, a joint project of researchers from the University of Latvia (LU) and the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre (BMC) on the application of bacterial microcompartments in biotechnology has been completed. The presentation of the project will take place in June 18 at 16.00 BMC, Rātsupītes Street 1. Those interested will have the opportunity to watch the presentation online.

Genetics and evolution of malignancies. A research of the LU doctoral student Nineļa M. Vainšeļbauma.

A doctoral student at the faculty of Biology of the University of Latvia Nineļa M. Vainšeļbauma is a capable young researcher at the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre, who has focused on the cognize of malignancies at the molecular level. Her efforts to find a solution to combat the aggressive disease has been crown with success, namely, observed so far an undescribed phenomenon in the process of dividing cancer cells.

What Covid-19 research could be a developed for the 5 million allocated by the state?

Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre - LV BMC director and Chairman of the Latvian Science Council Jānis Kloviņš explains, that researchers have now submitted more than 200 ideas to national research projects.
