Folding and degradation of proteins
Folding and Degradation of Proteins is the group affiliated to LU BMC since October 2000. The vast majority of the fellows are professional scientists with extensive international experience. We study the mechanisms of ubiquitin-proteasome pathway of protein degradation. Another field of our activity is maturation and folding of polypeptides.
We work in close collaboration with several groups from
  • Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden
  • Linkopping University, Linkopping, Sweden
  • Australian National University, Canberra, Australia
  • UAB Barcelona, Spain

  • Xenbiotic modifying protein CYP450 degradation
  • Protein stabilization sequences from viral genes
  • Regulation of keratocytes by Ub-proteasomal pathway
  • Escort secreting protein ERp29
  • Protein ligases
  • Magnetobacteria and magnetosomes
